Wages, costs take center stage of candidate forum on child care

MADISON (WKOW) – Candidates for elected office articulated their vision for how to reform and support the child care industry to keep more centers from closing during a Thursday night forum at the Sensory Zone on Madison’s northside.

Mother Forward, an advocacy organization around the issues of accessible child care and paid family leave, hosted the event.

Erik Olsen, the Republican challenger to Democrat incumbent Congressman Mark Pocan, attended along with both major party candidates running for the 48th Assembly District, which represents Sun Prairie, the east side of Madison and part of rural Dodge County.
